close-up
The close-up takes us into the mind of a character as we can clearly see their facial emotions at this shot, to make us sense what the character is feeling. This shot gives the audience a detailed view of the most important part or action within a scene. Close-ups also help to build audience interest in the film.

extreme long shot

medium shot
this shot is mainly used for dialogue scenes and shows the characters from the waist upwards illustrating the relationship through body language between them in the scene.

over-the-shoulder shot
This shot creates a sense of mystery as there is a sense that the audience should not be looking at what they can see. Also it involves the audience as they are looking from a characters point of view and that the character in the scene does not know they are there.

low angle shot
this angle helps portray a superiority to the character as if they are looking down on someone or as if a character is looking up to a person, maybe in an aspirational sense. It could also evoke a sense of vunerablity to the person who is being looked down on which helps the audience feel what that character may be feeling.
